The Shop at Howgill is a children’s charity clothes shop based in Cleator Moor, made by the Howgill Family Centre and Grizedale Arts, The Coniston Institute and An Endless Supply. The shop will provide a new space to purchase recycled and repurposed children’s clothes, alongside a workshop facility for the development new products; useful and interesting things that will help highlight and enhance local skills.
Recycling previously unwanted goods into useful items, the shop aims to create a dynamic, fully functioning sustainable space that meets the needs of the local community, as well as introducing new creative skills to the area.
The shop will collaborate with a range of practitioners, including a dedicated volunteer group and local apprentice painters and decorators from the construction department of Lakes College, who contributed to the refurbishment of the space.
