Born 1973, United Kingdom. Lives & Works in United Kingdom.
Barry and Sean were resident artists in 2004 and were part of ‘Romantic Detachment’. At Chapter Arts the duo assembled a ‘Whittling Station’, an amalgam of junk-shop furniture that provided them with a base from which they could carve whittled wooden artefacts.
They worked together between 2000 and 2006, operating under the collaborative title 'Staying Alive'. Their shared interests included the day-to-day behaviour of contemporary adventurers, fictional representations of endurance or isolation, and the compulsion to keep busy and customise your surroundings. They made sculptures, installations and most often, absurdist performances.
