Adam Sutherland became the director of Grizedale arts in 1999
after a career in the arts as artist and organiser. he has overseen
the development of the organisation from forest sculpture trail to
community arts organisation. Albeit an unusual community arts
organisation that hosts residencies, curates public art commissions
and works around the world on a range of arts programmes. Adam has
a longstanding commitment to helping art and artists become a part
of everyday life, a standard expectation to live and work
creatively. It's a modest aim.
Tracy works for both Grizedale and the Coniston Institute and is based at the Grizedale office upstairs in the Coniston Institute. She is responsible for the financial management of the organisations and also co-ordinates the bookings of the Institute. Tracy is a small holder with a wide range of poultry, pigs and cattle and has a particular enthusiasm for Boxer dogs.
Grizedale employs a number of managers, artists and others over the year to help support specific projects. Regulars include Niamh Riordan and Francesca Ulivi & Maria Benjamin
Grizedale Arts is a charitable company set up to further the arts. It is run by a board of trustees and follows a constitution. Copies of the constitution are available on request. Grizedale Arts’ registered charity number is: 1076662.
